Bending Over Backwards to Open Your Heart
Sunday 6th July, London
This workshop consists of the four practical aspects of Classical aṣṭāṅga yoga: āsana, prānāyāma, dhyāna and mantra. The vinyāsa krama that is practised consists of a sequence of yogasana that is linked together by a continuous thread of breath and conscious attention.
The focus on backbends is to specifically bring about harmony in all the esoteric anatomy but with the emphasis on the harmonisation of anāhata (heart) chakra which propagates sukha (happiness) and overcomes duḥkha (suffering).
Stewarts workshops are demanding, innovative and based on traditional Yogic teachings. He infuses his high energy and challenging teachings with philosophy, politics and humour. His classes include an emphasis on breath, vinyasa and philosophy with physical adjustments. Stewart applies the authentic teachings of yoga to the modern postural world to create thought-provoking classes.
Some yoga experience is required.
